junior ribbon award scheme

objective

To encourage junior archers towards shooting at their correct competition distance and enabling those to recognise the relevant standards required that will be awarded by the DWAA Tournament Achievement Awards if gained in open competition.

rules

  • GNAS Rules of Shooting to apply.
  • Three dozen (36) arrows to be shot at the specified distance using a 122cm target face and GNAS five zone scoring.
  • A ribbon is awarded when the specified score at a given distance is reached or bettered on three separate occasions.
  • Progression to the next distance should only take place after achievement of the previous award.
  • Juniors are permitted to score their own sheets, however scoring should be verified by a club committee member / senior member (preferably not a family member) and score sheets signed before handing to the Records Officer.
  • Please ensure the archer's name is present on result sheets used for ribbon claims.
  • The tables below show the scores that have to be reached using either recurve or longbow at a given distance and age range. The colour indicates the ribbon colour.
